Margo was referred to us by a contact at DHS. She had recently been reunited with her children but was in need of some items that she just couldn’t afford. We were able to bring her groceries to help her food stamps last through the spring break week. We also supplied pillows and blankets and sheets for her and her 4 children.
As we were pulling what we brought out of the car, her three boys were there to help us bring it all in. At first they only saw two of the pillows. Immediately they began to figure out how they could all share these two pillows and were in the process of developing a rotation plan when they realized that there were enough pillows for all of them. These children were so excited about just having their own pillows that it blew my mind. Something that we think of as a given, they were so grateful for.
What a blessed reminder this family was to why we continue to do what we do.
